Silent Saturday

This is the story of Easter weekend:

This man was handed over to you by God’s deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross. But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him. Acts 2:23b-24

Yesterday:

This man was handed over to you by God’s deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross.

Today:

…the agony of death…

He is paying for my sin, your sin and the sins of everyone in history. Think of all you have done, all that has been done to you, and all atrocities you have heard about in the world. He paid for it on Saturday.

But have hope, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.

Tomorrow:

But God raised him from the dead…

The promise of victory over death is real. Saturday does not last forever.

Picture Explanation: No pictures on what I call, “silent Saturday.” He was paying for you and me today.

    1. I learned so much breaking this down and ended up with the same response: Thank you, Jesus, for paying for our sins.

Planting and Watering

I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth. So then neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but God who causes growth.

1 Corinthians 3:6
