Laurie O'ConnorWell, now you know that because my faith in God was weak, I allowed circumstances to overwhelm me and weaken my relationship with God. Are you the same? It is disheartening when we discover we don’t have the spiritual muscle to stand firm no matter what. Of course none of us will see perfection this side of heaven, but the Bible says mature Christ followers never cease to strive toward living life well for Him.

Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. All of us who are mature should take such a view of things.(Philippians 3:12-15a)

I stumbled upon this verse this year about what God thinks about people who live well. Take a look at this.

Men and women who have lived wisely and well will shine brilliantly, like the cloudless star-strewn night skies. And those who put others on the right path to live will glow like stars forever (Daniel 12:3, Message)

How cool would it be to fill the globe with people who live like this…

  • Like stars in the sky
  • Like a city on a hill all lit up at night (Matthew 5:14)

I don’t know where God is going to take Oaks Ministries: Display God’s Strength and Beauty to a Watching World. Oaks (for short) was launched publicly in 2014 with the following:

  • a book that I wrote, Live ABOVE the Chaos
  • a blog that allows me to share thoughts that God that may use to encourage, challenge or help you grow in your faith
  • a collection of talks I have given on various topics
  • a collection of resources that point people to Jesus and encourage all of us to strive to glorify God in all we do

To This End I Labor

We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ. To this end I labor, struggling with all his energy, which so powerfully works in me.

Colossians 1:28-29
