I apologized to my students this week.
I taught class on Monday and Tuesday without even acknowledging that over the weekend a national disaster had occurred in Texas.
How embarrassing.
Thankfully, I gave students an opportunity on Wednesday and Thursday to share about friends and relatives affected by Hurricane Harvey and to share ideas about how to donate money.
So this weekend when I was thinking about what to blog about, I simply could not blog about anything else.
I want to remind everyone:
- Pray for Houston.
- Ask people you know if someone they know or love is in Houston. Really listen and then pray.
- Consider giving.
One of the great churches located in the Houston area is Bayou City Fellowship Their singular focus is to declare the unending greatness of Jesus in the city they love so much — Houston, Texas.
They are one (of many churches and volunteers) working tirelessly.
In describing the response of members of this caring church, Beth Moore tweeted: Right now in Houston Texas the hands of Jesus have wet vacs and saws in them & the feet of Jesus are walking in water wearing rubber boots. (1:55 PM – 31 August 2017)
They are also raising money.
THEY PROMISE THAT EVERY PENNY WILL GO TO HELPING VICTIMS OF HURRICANE HARVEY.
I believe them.
Will you join me in donating?

If not this way, somehow.
Thank you.
Picture Explanation: No pictures of a calm life in Georgia this week when Houston is struggling. Just pray and give. The re-building will be going on long after the flood waters dissipate. Let’s not forget.

Harvey victims also need underwear of all sizes. I went on Amazon and donated 100 pairs to this address:
Undies for Everyone
1700 Bissonnet St.
Houston, TX 77005
Be sure and let your husband/wife know. My husband received an email and inquired about status of my current underwear.
Thank you for the information, your generosity, and the tip for each of us to tell the husband what you are up to. 😉
